Scheme of Examination Reforms and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)

In General for the purpose of the CCE, an academic year has been divided into two terms.

1. The First Term will be April - September
2. The Second Term from October - March

The CCE in classes from I std X std is intended to provide holistic profile of the learner through evaluation of both Scholastic and Non-Scholastic areas spread over two terms.

Evaluation of Scholastic Areas :

Each Term will have one Formative assessment and one Summative Assessment for Scholastic areas.

Formative Assessment (FA) :

IT is a tool used by the teacher to continuously monitor student progress in a non-threatening and supportive environment. If used effectively it can improve student performance termendously while raising the self esteem of the child.

It is highly recommended that the school shout not restrict the formative assessment to only a Paper-pen Test. There are other means of testing such as through quizzes. conversation, interviews, oral testing, visual testing, projects, practical and assignment.

Summative Assessment (SA) :

It is the terminal assessment of performance at the end of instruction. Under the End term summative Assessment. The students will be tested internally based on the following criteria:

1. Curriculum and syllabus for Classes I std to X std will be the same as circulated by the Board earlier.
2. The summative assessment will be in the form of Pen-Paper Test by the school themselves. It will conduct at the end of each term.

108. 10.07.13 - "Global Cancer Concern India" conducted Cancer Awareness programme during the assembly.
109. 06.07.13 - The Child Smith Academy conducted Montessori Kindergarten Workshop and Awareness programme for our nursery teachers.
110. N.Sai Prem Kumar of class VIII B participated in the St.Joesph's 3rd International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2013 held at St.Joseeph's College of Engineering from 29.06.13 to 3.7.13. He scored 7 points in 9 rounds and placed 3rd on the Merit List.

112. 5/7/2013 – Anupriya Parthiban of X std participated in the English Elocution Competition held at Jawahar Vidyalaya,Ashok Nagar. S.Prajesh of VIII A participated in the following events. (i)24th TN State Under-17 Boys/Girls Championship held at Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur from 21st to 26th April 2013. He scored 4 points out of "Nine Rounds". (ii) 3rd MDCA ALL INDIA FIDE RATED OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT-2013 held from 15th to 19th April, 2013 at Institution of Engineers Auditorium,Mysore. He scored 5.5 points out of "Ten Rounds". (iii) Tamil Nadu State Sub Junior Chess Championsip held at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore from 19th to 24th May 2013. He scored 5 points in 9 rounds and was placed 63rd on the Merit List.
